MSNA Fall Conference Encourages "Transformation for Relevance"

The MSNA Fall Conference kicks off on October 23 and “Transformation for Relevance” plays a major role in every aspect of the three-day event. With its themes of renewal and revitalization, it’s appropriate that this year’s conference is held in historic New Orleans.

“While our firms have not collectively endured the hardships of New Orleans, the public accounting profession is experiencing its own significant disruption from outside forces,” said MSNA CEO, Tony Szczepaniak. “It is critically important that we come together to understand the impact of technology, evolution of client expectations, change in demands and demographics of a diverse workforce and increase in the importance of a global economy.”

The conference will feature a presentation led by Ron Baker, setting the stage for further discussions on overcoming disruption and the importance of transformation. Ron is the author of The Firm of the Future, and founder of VeraSage Institute, the leading think tank dedicated to educating professionals internationally. Ron will share insights and offer perspectives on the disruptions that are creating an environment of change and transformation within the public accounting profession.

"If we want things to stay as they are, things will have to change," said Ron. "Disruptive threats inherently do not come from technology, but from new business models. Transforming a business model requires new strategies to create and capture value, including pricing strategies, and what firms measure."

In addition to sessions led by Ron, the conference will also feature breakout sessions to identify innovation opportunities for specific service offerings, and international sessions to focus on key country developments and collaboration efforts. Vendor Collaboration Sessions, featuring Embroker and AICPA, will provide MSNA strategic vendors the opportunity to provide solutions to the problems caused by disruptive forces.

Attendees will be using social media to track their transformation journey. Those unable to attend the conference can follow along by searching the hashtags #MooreKnowsNO, and save the date for the MSNA Spring Conference May 9-11 in Chicago.
