Moore Stephens North America Appoints Three New Members to Executive Board, First Women on Board

Minneapolis, MN – Members of Moore Stephens North America (MSNA), the fourth largest Accounting Firm Association in the United States, have voted three new members to join the executive board, including the first women.

“In our short time as members of MSNA, we have been impressed with the commitment of the association to work together to continuously improve our firms and, in turn, the profession,” said Beth Kieffer Leonard, managing partner at Lurie, LLP and new addition to the board. “In my experience in leadership of our firm and with the profession, I know how important it is to have a diversity of experiences on our association board, I am confident that this will be the case with the addition of this new group of board members.”

In addition to Leonard, Cheryl Burke, COO of DGC and Tony Caleca, managing partner of Brown Smith Wallace, joined the board, effective January 1, 2018.

“I am very excited and honored to join the MSNA Board of Directors,” said Caleca. “The firm leaders I will be working with are all very accomplished executives working towards growing their organizations and creating additional opportunities for their associates.”

The executive board is democratically elected by their peers to set the direction for North America, so clients are assured the same professional standards and quality services are provided everywhere.

“While our executive board is consistently filled with leaders from the top firms in North America, this year’s board is an accomplishment for diversity in our association’s leadership,” said Tony Szczepaniak, chief executive officer of MSNA. “Appointing the first two women to the board is a recognition of the talent and experience that our association needs to move forward.”

The executive board consists of seven members; in addition to Burke, Caleca and Leonard, Andy Armanino, managing partner of Armanino LLP, will remain chairman of the board, with Rick Davis, managing partner of Elliott Davis, ascending to the role of vice chair and Greg Hutchins, partner at HCVT, on the board as well.

“Through my affiliation with MSNA I have built some great relationships that have in turned helped many of DGCs clients,” said Burke. “I look forward to working as a board member to find innovative ways for MSNA to continue to bring value to its members and their clients.”

Leaving the board is Tom Bonadio, managing partner of The Bonadio Group, Mark Fagan, managing partner of Citrin Cooperman’s Connecticut office, and Tom Rosenbach, managing partner of Beene Garter.

“The legacy left by our departing board members is strong,” said Szczepaniak. “We are thankful for their dedication and their contributions over the years, and look to their leadership as our association continues to collaborate, innovate and improve.”
